How much Valium/diazepam to get high? 10-20mg?

I have got some 10 mg Valium pills lying in my medicine cabinet. I want to know how much mg we should take to enjoy a good high. Do we take it as it is or mix it with something else?

Pardon me for these questions, but I am quite new to benzos and have not used it for quite some time. I once tried 10 mg pills but did not feel any difference.

Also, I have seen people using grapefruit juice to potentiate the effects of Valium. Does that work?

All replies and suggestions are welcome.

A prescription drug, Valium is popular for its sedative purposes.

However, abusing it can have serious side effects which can turn fatal in no time. Though it is sometimes used for alcohol withdrawal, it is given under strict supervision.

I would suggest avoiding Valium for getting high.

Grapefruit juice has a CYP3A4 inhibitor which helps in potentiating the effects of Valium. Hence, it is the preferred choice. You can also come across people taking it with tea, beer, etc. As they say, each to his own.

Valium belongs to benzodiazepine class of drugs. Valium and all its ilk work to potentiate effects of GABA, a neurotransmitter located in the central nervous system.

Use of Valium results in depressing the effects of many processes in the brain. It is this property which has attracted people like us to use it to get high.

While some people prefer taking valium alone, I know many friends who mix it with either alcohol or any other substance that would heighten the effects.

The only problem with valium is the crash which follows after the high. It is nightmarish, and the associated symptom would make people repent themselves for abusing it.

A 10 mg valium (diazepam) is unlikely to give you a buzz, leave alone a high.

I take around 50 mg pill, cut it in half and mix it with tea and drink it. It gives me an incredible high.

Mind you, I have taken prescription valium for more than five years now, so I know which dose would be the best.

I like taking Valium with Seroquel. It creates a whole new experience. Through trial and error, I have found out that snorting 10 mg pills could give you the desired effects.

I believe 50 mg dose for a newbie is a sure shot invitation to either ER or mortuary.

People who have either very low tolerance or practically zero tolerance should not take such high dose. A 20 mg dose would be enough to produce euphoria and intoxication.

Anything above 30mg would negatively impact the memory of the high which we got. We should ideally minimize dose and maximize intoxication and euphoria.

I second what has been written above. A 50 mg dose is too much for a newbie or a person with low tolerance.

I take 10 mg diazepam pill orally and wash it down with grapefruit juice. I prefer taking it through the mouth rather than snorting because diazepam’s oral bioavailability is very high.

I would suggest not exceeding 10 mg when doing diazepam especially for those guys who have a low tolerance level.

Valium helps in relieving anxiety and is a good muscle relaxer.

I take valium with beer because I do not like the taste of the pill. It also mixes well with other opiates.

In my opinion, take around 20 mg dose, drink a couple of beers and enjoy the bliss while it lasts.

Ok, guys, I need help here. I have been a veteran of benzos (clonazepam, lorazepam, zopiclone, etc.) using them for the past few years.

Off late, I started using the yellow valium pills (3 over five months)…must say, the only thing it does is make me drowsy. I feel so lethargic that after taking them, I go to sleep.

I am not sure why this is happening. I should have a good tolerance based on my previous use.

It’s pretty simple. Valium is the most active sedative-hypnotic drug known to man. About you having experience with other benzos, one cannot compare apples and oranges.

Every benzo is different. I get very drowsy on clonazepam, whereas a colleague takes it in the morning and can work without any break for nearly 15 hours.

The only odd one out is lorazepam, though it is said to induce drowsiness in few. Zopiclone is an out-and-out hypnotic. Weird you never felt sleepy on it.

I have read comments about mixing valium with booze. I would not prefer it. Am I the odd one out?

Despite all the talk about tolerance etc., I know for a fact that benzos and booze are a deadly combo.

Mixing booze and valium can result in irregular heart rhythm and respiratory distress. I'm game for little recreation but not at the cost of my health.

Valium is used for treating chronic anxiety. Though valium is used recreationally, I have never come across people who would use Seroquel recreationally.

While you don’t get a buzz on Seroquel, you surely would get the “zzzz” from it. It would only make you hungry, sleepy and interfere with your dopamine levels.

I'm fairly sure Seroquel would inhibit any euphoria that you would get from the valium.

Well luckily for you, you are not. Many take it with tea or grapefruit juice, including yours truly. There is a good portion of people who mix it with booze.

As you said, benzos and booze is no joke. Social acceptance of alcohol has led people to believe that mixing it with others might not be dangerous. Well, they are wrong since one is never sure when your body would pull a fast one on you.

It works. It inhibits the activity of a particular enzyme which is responsible for changing substances into metabolites. It doesn't potentiate pills, but on the other hand, it might lessen the effects of the substance.

It goes like this:

Substance + Enzyme A = active metabolite =good high

Substance + Enzyme B = inactive metabolite = no high

In normal situations, approximately 50% of the substance gets metabolized by enzyme A and the rest by enzyme B.

If enzyme B gets inhibited then approx. 75% of the substance may get metabolized by enzyme A and rest by enzyme B resulting in a greater high.

However, not all substances are the same. Enzyme B can sometimes metabolize substances into active metabolites.

At these levels, any combo would do good.
