How Long Does Weed Smell Linger and Last Inside the Room

Hi guys.

I want to know how long it might take for the smoke from weed and exhaled smoke to clear out of the room. Also does smoking with the pipe slightly outside the window help the smoke fly away.

I am asking this because I am in this shitty rehab facility, undergoing a forced rehab program (by parents) and have this strong urge to smoke weed.

Hmm….in a rehab and want to smoke…great going. :D :D :D :D

The answer to your question depends on many factors and is very hard to answer. It is like asking how quickly a bathtub can be emptied without knowing how big the tub is or how big the drain is. Hope you get the point.

I get your point and sorry to have missed out on that aspect. The room is a standard bedroom-sized room with large windows in two directions and has nice cross ventilation. However, one window opens towards the lobby, and that is my main concern.

The smoke also depends on the weed’s strain. If it is possible, try burning incense sticks which could mask the weed’s smell and not make its presence felt to anyone who enters the room from outside.

You can call me a veteran when it comes to hiding smells, and I have been hiding it from my parents who, though very friendly, are strict when it comes to cigs and its brethren.

There are many variables which are involved in your question. Many factors determine the smell of weed in the room and how long would it last. It takes into consideration like smell of the stuff itself, how much weed has been smoked, how it has been consumed, the time, whether the air conditioning was on, windows were open or and were you smoking out of the window or inside the room, etc.

As far as I can understand, your problem is while smoking inside the room. I suggest opening the window which faces the outside (another one opens to the lobby, it seems). If the wind is blowing in, then it should be opened only after smoking. If the wind direction is right, then take a hit, hold it for as long as you can, go near the window and exhale it. Smoking quickly also might be helpful.

If the room has only a fan on and windows open, then they might clear up in an hour. This is a rough estimate and might take more time. This one time, I had a session of the pot with my friends, and the smell remained in the room for nearly two hours. So it is all relative.

Hope it was helpful.

IMO, smoking out of a window might help. If possible, keep the J out of the window while exhaling. If you smoke in a room that has no circulation, then it might stink. Also when you are smoking, make sure the smoke is nowhere near fabrics, since they have inherent capacity to absorb the smell.

Also masking the smell of weed with other smell might lead to further problems. Try to smoke in such a way that the smell does not linger. The reason why I am saying is that you might use a light bulb vape, but it might end up looking like you have been taking crack.

Can I ask you a question? Is the rehab facility very strict? If not, then go for a smokeless pipe. I often use a smokeless pipe, which works wonderfully. You can inhale as much as you want, go to the window and blow out the smoke, thereby no worries about odor.

When I was a teen, I used to smoke in an en-suite. I would take the toilet paper roll, stuff few dryer sheets into it and smoke through the roll. I was amazed that there was no smell at all. My friend used the washroom after a few minutes, and he did not seem to notice any smell. Might work for you.

You can add herbs to some oil and eat it. It eliminates the need to clean the room from smoke altogether. You can try out different recipes for preparing cannabis if you can get the kitchen to yourself for some time.

Weed does not help a person to get a high unless and until it is heated. If OP is going to cook it alone in the kitchen when nobody is around, it still would not serve his purpose as the whole kitchen could reek of weed... and at a rehab center, they do know how a weed smells and how rosemary smells.

You are partly correct. However, some resins (oily squishy kinds) can be taken as it is. I took a few grams of it, mixed it with yogurt and took it. It hit me in two hours, and I never had that high. However, it should only be taken only if you do not have anything to do for the next five hours; trust me, I am talking from experience ;) ;).
