Nestled in an idyllic location in East New Market, Maryland, across the Chesapeake Bay, Warwick Manor Behavioral Health (Warwick Manor) offers residential care for clients having addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Focusing on people from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., Warwick Manor provides a comprehensive residential program, including detoxification, dual-diagnosis support, and MAT (medication-assisted treatment). The center also offers a sober living program for clients who undergo either an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
Set up in a traditional rehab facility style, Warwick Manor offers gender-segregated modest rooms that are shared between clients. The rooms come equipped with wooden dressers and twin-sized beds.
Around 20 beds are earmarked in a separate area for clients enrolled in the sober living program. These clients leave the facility in the morning for meeting their daily commitments and come back in the evening to participate in the programs.
Facilities at Warwick Manor include a common area, a lecture hall, a big dining hall, offices, therapy rooms, as well as a small weight room. Clients can have a smoke during break time in designated areas.
Clients are served three hearty and nutritious meals prepared by the staff. Clients can also state their dietary preferences to the team, and these are usually accommodated.
Warwick Manor offers a 30-day residential program that utilizes traditional therapy and a 12-step approach to treat the clients. The center also provides medication management and dual diagnosis support. Clients requiring stabilization are provided medically monitored detoxification (costs included in the fees).
Once a client enrolls in the program, a customized treatment plan is prepared. Treatment program involves individual and group therapies, 12-step meetings, and family therapy if needed. Even though group therapy forms a significant chunk of the daily schedule, clients who want to have individual sessions can see their therapists daily.
Topics in group therapy include communication, family dynamics, relapse prevention, trauma, and 12-step. Counselors use CBT and DBT during individual and group therapies. Clients can also opt for family therapy, provided the primary therapist approves it.
The PHP program, an eight-week program, is conducted along with inpatient groups, between 9:00 am 3:00 pm for five days every week. PHP clients also attend a weekly individual session. Attending on-site NA/AA meetings is a must for every PHP and inpatient clients. The clients can attend an off-site AA/NA meeting in the community on Saturdays.
Warwick Manor’s IOP track runs for 12 weeks. In this track, thrice-weekly group sessions are held, each lasting three hours. Individual therapy sessions are also held upon request. Clients have to attend at least two NA/AA meetings every week on this track.
The treatment team at Warwick Manor comprises of doctors, Master-level therapists, nurses, and certified addiction counselors.
Warwick Manor Behavioral Health also offers aftercare planning consisting of a once-monthly alumni group session focusing on recovery skills. Clients who desire enhanced individual therapy sessions can avail guided imagery. PHP and inpatient clients also have the option of attending a weekly art therapy group.
