Center Category: Rehab Centers
Established in 1985, Tara Treatment Center is located in Franklin, Indianapolis. Nestled on lush 13 acres, the center offers treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction. As part of its holistic treatment approach, Tara not only incorporates therapeutic modalities but also gives education to the individual as well as the family. This unique approach helps the clients change their behavioral patterns and thinking, which enables long-term abstinence.
Unlike a standard hospital setting, Tara Treatment Center offers gender-specific residential units for its clients. Based on the number of residents in the program, each room is shared by two or three residents. Each residence has four bathrooms. To encourage client interaction, Tara restricts outside interaction. It is limited to spiritual tomes, house phone calls, television (for a few hours), and 12-step literature.
Residents of Tara Treatment Center are provided three balanced meals a day in the respective dining rooms. Mealtimes are also considered an integral part of the social program, and residents are encouraged to have meals together.
Clients who require detoxification are provided a medically monitored detox. To ensure the detox stands up to scrutiny, the center uses the criteria adopted by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
The treatment approach at Tara is holistic and uses several different modalities to help the individual learn various concepts of recovery. Some of the approaches include an evidence-based approach like DBT, experiential therapy, psychoeducation, and yoga. Relapse prevention and anger management skills are also provided.
Days at Tara Treatment Center starts at 7:30 am. Residents undergo morning mediation, which is followed by the group as well as individual sessions. After lunch, residents attend the afternoon group as well as addiction education classes. Free time is after dinner. The day ends with a 12-step meeting or an alumni meet. Residents hit the sack at 11:00 pm.
The treatment team at Tara includes physicians, psychologists, nurses, and addiction counselors.
Besides the programs mentioned above, Tara also offers yoga and equine therapy as part of its treatment approach.
Visitors are allowed every Saturday during the evening hours. Before meeting their loved ones, visitors have to attend a family education program.
Approximately $18,000 (30 days).
