- Profile
A reliable mid-tier rehab, New Method Wellness Center opened its doors to the public in 2006. The center has four facilities – a treatment place and three living accommodations.
Accommodations
The living accommodations are split between two upscale houses – La Jolla and Capo Beach. La Jolla, a male residential unit, is in a gated community situated in San Juan Capistrano. Capo Beach is an all-female residence located near Dana Point.
Both houses have modern interiors and come equipped with a gourmet kitchen. While the New Method Wellness Center (NMWC) does provide lunch, residents are supposed to take care of breakfast and dinner. This is to ensure that the residents become self-reliant in these matters. Even with housekeeping, New Method Wellness Center expects its residents to take care of cleaning their units. Deep cleaning, however, is done by the housekeeping staff that visits every week.
Each house accommodates ten residents, and residents share a room with other residents. Since the treatment is done at the facility’s San Juan Capistrano hub, NMWC offers shuttles to and from these meetings. Upon completion of the treatment, residents transition to Villario House, the facility’s transitional living facility. The transition house has all the amenities that the other two homes boast of.
Treatment Program
New Method Wellness Center, as the name suggests, employs contemporary methods for treating its patients. The primary care offered by the NMWC lasts from 30 to 90 days. The program comprises medical care, psychoanalysis, as well as talk therapy conducted by a staff psychologist.
The center offers its residents on-site detox services. There is also an intervention team that helps in getting reluctant patients into the treatment program. For patients with dual diagnosis disorders, NMWC offers a personalized treatment plan that addresses all the overt and covert issues that resulted in the manifestation of this problem in the first place. An executive treatment program is also provided by New Method Wellness Center for those clients who cannot afford long-term treatment either due to professional or personal reasons.
NMWC employs several treatment methodologies in pursuit of recovery. Some of these include the traditional 12-step approach, faith-based program, DBT, cognitive-behavioral approaches, EMDR, equine therapy, as well as experimental methods such as sand play therapy and wilderness therapy.
Apart from the residential program, NMWC also offers an outpatient track. This track involves group therapy, individual counseling, workshops on life skills, and several holistic therapies.
Staff
The treatment team at New Method Wellness Center is led by a DeAnna Crosby, a clinical director with nearly two decades of experience when it comes to working in recovery. The rest of the group is diverse, well experienced, and highly professional. The team includes physicians, psychiatrists, and personal trainers. That said, the center does not employ the medical team 24/7.
In Addition
For those in the inpatient program, NMWC offers holistic treatments such as acupuncture, yoga, and massage. These experimental therapies are a bonus and not readily offered at several other rehabs that dot the area.
Cost
Approximately $40,000 (30 days).
