Each room is furnished with twin beds, storage space, dressers, and essential decorations. The St. Louis Park facility also has therapy rooms on the campus. The facility also boasts of outdoor walking areas as well as common areas which are equipped with a TV.
Food
Residents staying at this facility get three meals every day, served in the on-site cafeteria. Snacks are also made available to the residents.
Treatment Program
Before starting a treatment program, every client has to undergo an initial intake and evaluation to help the treatment team determine their needs. As the organization offers on-site medical services, clients who need detox or medical stabilization can get it before starting the treatment.
Although the organization does not insist on a fixed number of days for treatment, every client has to undergo both individual therapies along with group sessions, coupled with evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT. Residents who have basic mental health issues can seek dual diagnosis support. Outside referrals are also available, based on severity.
Residents work with counselors and dietitians to create a healthy eating plan and ways to improve self-esteem. They also work on grocery shopping, meal preparation, and other skills. Even though the facility does not insist residents to participate in the 12-step program, referrals are available. Residents can also interact with psychiatrists and doctors during the entire treatment program.
Staff
The treatment team at Melrose Center includes doctors, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, LPCs, nutritionists, and Masters’s-level counselors.
In Addition
Melrose Center also provides numerous flexible outpatient options at its Maple Grove and St. Paul locations in Minnesota. Since the program on eating disorder focuses heavily on the food, the staff arranges trips to nearby grocery stores and local restaurants as part of exposure therapy. Residents can also create a step-down program once they graduate.

Melrose helped me overcome my anorexia. The counselors helped me understand the importance of food and how a healthy diet was essential if I have to survive and pursue the dreams that I had. I am giving them 3 stars because my therapist left midway, and for a few days, we were left on our own. The new therapist took her sweet time to understand our problems, but once she did, we were back on track.
I love the Melrose Center. I am in the mid 50’s and have been suffering from various problems related to food. I was lucky to get an excellent therapist who helped me become my old self. The staff and fellow patients are great, and they help each other out. I know the program works because my grandson has taken a liking to my new self and does not leave me. Oh, I almost forgot. They also have a chapel inside, so those who desire a little chat with the creator can do so!!!
I’ve undergone outpatient treatment for my food disorder, and I do not have anything but kind words for these fellas. They are amazing. The counselor was excellent and helped me a lot. She even answered my calls during late hours when I was feeling sad and did not what to do. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Melrose center.
