The topics discussed in the group sessions are either educational, like relapse prevention and trigger identification, etc., or therapeutic.
Residents are also offered on-site detoxification for an additional cost. Harris House also offers its residents dual diagnosis support, with treatment being tailored to specific conditions.
Staff
The staff at Harris House comprises LCSWs. The center employs ten staff members for every 30 clients.
Additional Facilities
Harris House recognizes addiction has got a family connection. To address this, the center offers a family program. Families can come and take part in two or more family counseling sessions in a week. Even though residents are pre-engaged with their program, they can entertain visitors on Sunday afternoons.
Residents who want to have a holistic component in their treatment are offered yoga and meditation. The center also provides its residents PHP and IOP options, as well as transitional housing. Before committing myself to the rehab center, I wanted to have a tour and asked the people if that can be arranged. Surprisingly, they said yes. The staff welcomed me, and there were a lot of smiling faces. That was a surprise to me. All questions were answered, and I was thoroughly pleased with the tour. The center was spic and span. When I got admitted here, I was pretty nervous, but the treatment team handled it well. The food was very hearty and nutritious. The groups were informative, and I benefitted a lot from them. What impressed me was that almost all the staff members were happy and ready to help. There was no hesitation of any kind. The free washer and dryer was a bonus. I highly recommend this excellent rehab center. On a scale of 0-10, I’d rate it 20. Thank you, Harris House, for treating me well.
My son underwent a program, as well as the meetings. While the insurance paid only 90% of the treatment cost, we paid off the rest. While my son was inpatient, the staff was friendly and always communicated with me about his progress. Once he was done with the treatment, the attitude changed. Nobody called to follow up. My son briefly relapsed but was able to get back on track after going through a short course at another center. I think the staff should follow up and see how their patient is doing. It will help not only the patients but also the family members!
