Founded in 1909, Eagleville Hospital is a nonprofit, independent facility located in western Montgomery County of Pennsylvania. The hospital started as a treatment facility for people suffering from tuberculosis. It later transitioned towards substance abuse treatment.
Eagleville Hospital offers treatment for co-occurring disorders, as well as various inpatient and outpatient programs that are focused on adults.
This 305-bed hospital is situated on a 40-acre campus. The hospital consists of numerous buildings, each housing either a gender-specific or smaller co-ed units. The facility houses two to three clients in a room. Private rooms usually have a long waiting list.
Eagleville Hospital offers its clients a recreation room as well as a small gym. The rooms have basic furnishings. The hospital does not allow its clients to use any electronic items such as cameras, cell phones, iPods, and laptops. Even the toiletries brought by the clients should be non-alcoholic. They have to pay for using the vending machine and payphone.
The clients at Eagleville Hospital are served a basic yet healthy meal in the cafeteria.
Detox is offered to clients. The detox treatment is provided by doctors, nurses, as well as counselors. A typical detox treatment lasts anywhere from four days to a week. Following the completion of the detox program, clients are transferred to either outpatient or residential programs.
Clients receive an individualized treatment plan that can also include medication management if deemed necessary. Adult clients who have mental health issues along with substance abuse problems are housed in a special acute co-occurring disorder facility.
Every client in Eagleville Hospital has to participate in thrice-weekly group therapy, once-weekly individual therapy, and education. Counseling is offered on emotional and behavioral conditions, life skills, goal setting, and guidance about the socioeconomic difficulties and criminal justice.
The hospital does not offer any long-term treatment unless otherwise directed by the court. After detox treatment, a client undergoes a program that does not exceed 14 days. Upon discharge, an aftercare plan is prepared for the client.
Each unit is supervised 24/7 by a registered nurse and two assistants. Some of the additional staff include doctors, therapists, LCSWs, and CADCs.
Besides the programs for substance abuse, Eagleville also offers geriatric psychiatric treatment for mature adults aged over 55. A short-term program is devised for acute sufferers and focuses on returning the client quickly to their optimal level. This program includes physical and psychiatric assessment, 24-hour medical and nursing support, medication management, as well as treatment planning.
Approximately $16,000 (30 days).
