Clare Foundation Reviews, Cost & Complaints
Established in 1970 and based in Santa Monica, minutes away from the beach and business district, Clare Foundation is a CARF-accredited non-profit rehab center that focuses on providing treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse as well as various co-occurring disorders.
CLARE Foundation joined forces with Matrix Institute on Addictions in 2018 and formed CLARE|MATRIX.
CLARE|MATRIX offers gender-specific detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient services as well as sober living homes for adults aged above 18. As of date, the center has served more than 100,000 clients.
The residential treatment program provides 80 beds. The center’s primary program for men is located in a company-owned building in Santa Monica, opened in 2014. CLARE|MATRIX’s primary program for women offers 40 beds and is also located in a company-owned building. Men and women residents can stay in the respective buildings for six months.
The residential treatment facilities include comfortable office spaces, dormitory-style living space, rooms for conducting group meetings, as well as an industrial-grade kitchen, and cafeteria-style dining room.
CLARE|MATRIX operates various outpatient programs along with a residential treatment program integrating evidence-based and 12-steps approaches. As part of the residential treatment program, CLARE|MATRIX offers detoxification and primary treatment facilities for both genders, with a typical program usually lasting around 30 to 90 days.
Clients opting for residential programs undergo daily group therapy sessions as well as weekly individual therapy and case management meetings. Additionally, CLARE|MATRIX also offers as-needed psychiatric services for clients suffering from co-occurring disorders.
The foundation provides a personal development curriculum, which includes employment assistance and career readiness training program.
As part of its outpatient programs bouquet, Clare Foundation offers partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP). The PHP and IOP sessions are conducted daily for six hours and three hours, respectively, for five days a week. The IOP and PHP include individual therapy, group counseling, family meetings, as well as random drug screening.
The treatment team is led by two doctoral-level psychologists and are ably assisted by psychiatrists, nurses, addictionologists, and behavioral health therapists.
CLARE|MATRIX also offers sober-living homes that provide a safe and gender-specific living environment for men, women, as well as women with children. Residents in this program undergo random drug tests while participating in community support meetings and alumni activities.
The “Women with Children” program allows mothers to take part in a recovery plan while ensuring their children have a safe and structured lifestyle. The Sober Living program also includes a Drug Court Program offering court-approved alternatives for non-violent drug offenders and a Drinking Driver Program providing alcohol education and case monitoring for people driving under the influence.
The foundation also offers Clarity for Youth program, which sends counselors to various schools (local, middle, and high schools) to educate students about substance abuse.
An addition to the burgeoning list of programs offered by CLARE|MATRIX is Conscious Recovery, an outpatient program that provides a customized, evidence-based program (morning and evening IOP) as well as Day Treatment Programs.
Approximately $2, 500 (30 days).
