Center Category: Rehab Centers
Opened in 2006, CAST Centers is located in West Hollywood, California and offers treatment for addiction, and mental health issues, as well as dual diagnosis support.
The treatment programs on offer include intervention, outpatient programs, sober companionship, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). CAST may also offer education, career, legal assistance, and sober living.
CAST’s sober living residents are housed in luxury apartments situated in two adjoining duplexes. Four residents can reside in each apartment, for a total of 16 residents, though only eight reside at a time.
An apartment is shared between two residents. They also share the living room, bathroom, and kitchen. A free gym membership is provided to the residents. Residents at sober living stay under 24/7 supervision during their stay.
The cost of groceries, laundry, cable TV, and wireless Internet is included in the overall costs.
CAST does not offer a detox program. While CAST requires a minimum commitment of four weeks for the IOP track, a majority of clients stay for at least 16 weeks or more.
The IOP residents meet on weekdays and share the workshop and group schedule with the residents undergoing a sober living program. Residents in both tracks are assigned a lifestyle coach. The residents also undergo random drug screens.
Residents have to participate in seven groups every week. They also have to undergo four individual sessions with a therapist. The treatment modalities include ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, as well as psychodrama.
Workshops offered at CAST Centers include relapse prevention, art, writing, and music workshops. Residents at the CAST Center may also undergo twice-weekly neurofeedback.
During the weekends, IOP clients can attend workshops, activities, and outings that are meant for residents in the sober living track. These include yoga, mindfulness meditation, sound therapy sessions, spirituality and philosophy classes, and neighborhood walks.
The CAST treatment team consists of three resident advisors, a medical doctor, four Master’s-level therapists, two group facilitators, a neurofeedback tech, and administrative staff members.
CAST offers sober companions for its clients in the sober living track. These sober companions travel with clients on either business or family trips, especially during triggering or stressful times or guide and support them during a transition such as moving or death of someone close.
Sober companions can work for a few days to a few months.
