Located in Augusta, GA, about 15 minutes drive from Augusta Regional Airport, Bluff Plantation offers comprehensive dual diagnosis support for adults (18 and above) struggling with alcohol, drugs, and co-occurring mental health issues. Set upon a lush 178-acre campus along the Savannah River, the facility offers a long-term residential program and outpatient care. Bluff Plantation also offers on-site medical detoxification through the Medical College of Georgia.
Residents are provided private and comfortable accommodation. Bluff Plantation can accommodate nearly 19 residents at a time. The housing units are private cottages that are set up in a natural environment.
Residents are encouraged to go on hiking in the vast campus, practice yoga and meditation, or work on the campus gardens.
Residents are served family-style meals prepared by the kitchen staff that includes a five-star chef. The focus of the kitchen staff is to keep everything organic. The use of sugar and white flour is strictly prohibited. Meals are designed in a manner that will increase the resident’s dopamine levels naturally.
Treatment programs offered by Bluff Plantation are guided by a belief that one size does not fit all. The facility tries to match the medications, treatment settings, and services to each individual’s particular needs. This approach, according to Bluff Plantation, offers the residents increased chances of long-term recovery.
Programs held across Bluff Plantation’s vast 178-acre property are designed to give the residents comfort as well as privacy. The programs are also aimed at maintaining a distance between residents and negative environments and relationships. Still, families are encouraged to attend the family program as well as schedule a private family session when needed.
Residents start the treatment program with a detailed assessment that takes into account the resident’s biological, psychological, social, and other influences. The result is then used to prepare a customized treatment plan. The treatment plan might include behavioral group therapy, evidence-based counseling, neuroscience-driven medical care, nutritional counseling, and 12-step work.
Besides the inpatient treatment track, Bluff Plantation also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and standard outpatient tracks. These program tracks are designed to cater to the needs of those clients who might not be able to invest time in a residential program.
While the PHP track runs during the weekdays, the IOP track is offered for three to five days a week, each session lasting for nearly four hours every day. Aftercare coordinators also prepare continuing care plans to help the program graduates adjust home and work life after completion of their treatment tracks.
Bluff Plantation is a RiverMend Health Recovery Program and has a close affiliation with the Medical College of Georgia. The treatment team at Bluff Plantation comprises highly experienced addiction and pain experts like the medical director (triple board-certified), executive director (Master’s level), registered nurses, licensed counselors, nutritionists, art and equine therapists, and case managers.
Approximately $50,000 (30 days). Bluff Plantation does accept private insurance. Prospective clients need to check with the center’s financial specialists to discuss payment options.
