Residents are not allowed computers, but they can get their video game systems.
Food
As part of meal preparations, residents are taken on a supervised grocery trip each week, where they can spend a certain amount (approximately $70) on groceries.
Residents prepare their meals in the apartments. Residents usually share the cooking duties and have their dinners together.
Treatment Program
Residential treatment at Beachway typically starts with off-site detox at a place selected by either the client or the staff, who takes care of all the logistics.
Upon completion of detox, residents transition to a treatment program that lasts anywhere from a month to three months. The facility uses the 12-step model along with the evidence-based approach as its treatment modality, primarily leaning towards DBT.
Residents take part in group and individual therapy sessions, family therapy sessions, and holistic modalities such as equine, art, and psychodrama therapies. The center also offers women-only and a Christian treatment track.
Outpatient options offered by Beachway Therapy Center include partial hospitalization program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The PHP track involves attending 20 hours of sessions in a week, while the IOP track involves nine hours of meetings in a week. The IOP track is primarily designed to act as an aftercare plan.
Staff
The treatment team at Beachway Therapy Center comprises a medical director and includes Master’s level therapists, licensed social workers, and certified education counselors. The center boasts of a low client-to-staff ratio with one staff member for six residents.

The center also offers an onsite spa, manicures, massages, and chiropractic services. Hairstyling and pedicures are also offered, but for an additional fee.
