Center Category: Rehab Centers
Founded in 1974, ARC Manor is located in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. A non-profit organization, ARC Manor offers residential and outpatient treatment programs for substance abuse. The center provides three levels of outpatient care. While ARC Manor primarily deals with adult clients, it also offers outpatient treatment programs for adolescents.
The co-ed residential facility operated by ARC Manor can accommodate nearly ten residents at one time. The residential unit is a renovated AT&T building. The bottom floor has space for counselor offices as well as rooms for individual and group counseling sessions. The building’s top floor has bedrooms and a cafeteria. Clients stay in private rooms furnished with a twin bed.
Residents have to keep their rooms clean. ARC Manor does provide laundry detergent, as well as a washer and dryer. Besides the responsibility of keeping the rooms tidy, residents also have to do household chores every Saturday.
While ARC Manor does permit the use of laptops and cell phones, residents have to deposit their personal belongings with their counselors. This is to avoid theft of personal items and also ensure that the personal items are not abused. Residents are allowed to check on their items during the evening hours after getting requisite permission from their counselor.
To stay in touch with their friends and family, residents can use the phone present on the premises. However, they need to strictly adhere to the time slot given to ensure that all residents can make calls.
Besides the residents, ARC staff members also stay on the site 24/7. Counselors visit the convenience store two times a week and get any items as desired by the residents.
While the residents prepare breakfast collectively, lunch and dinner are prepared and served by off-site food service. The outside food service does accommodate any dietary needs or restrictions.
ARC Manor offers treatment services for all those who have a problem with drugs or alcohol abuse. Clients are either self-referrals or referred by other professionals. The treatment programs offered by ARC Manor do provide a track for co-occurring disorders.
The residential treatment programs offered by ARC Manor include individual and group therapy sessions, 12-step meetings, relapse prevention, and life skills. Residents also get nutritional guidance as well as medical care. The length of the treatment program varies.
Besides the residential track, ARC Manor also offers its clients outpatient treatment options, which include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) tracks. The PHP track runs for five days every week. The sessions cover process groups, individual counseling, as well as psychoeducational activities.
The IOP clients meet thrice in a week for education and group counseling.
Apart from the group counseling and individual sessions, ARC Manor offers a specialized outpatient treatment track that deals with adolescents, women, offenders, as well as clients who have issues with relapse.
The treatment team of ARC Manor comprises Master’s level clinicians, registered nurses, counselors (all of whom are LADCs), and social workers. The staff and counselors are trained to address issues specific to the LGBT community.
Approximately $6, 300 (30 days).
