Founded by Annie Jensen, Annie’s House, located in Draper, a suburb of Salt Lake City, is the latest entrant into the network of Steps Recovery Center.
Annie’s House offers a residential program for women having issues with substance abuse as well as co-occurring disorders. This center is run exclusively by women and provides social detox and lifetime alumni and aftercare support.
It is one of the four treatment facilities run by Steps Recovery Center network.
Annie’s House accommodates 24 residents in a high-end ranch-style housing unit. The average number of clients staying in this unit, however, is 18. The housing unit is set on a campus that boasts of trees, a pristine lawn, and a winding pathway leading to the front door.
Residential clients sleep in twin beds in rooms that are shared with either a single or two other roommates. Besides twin beds, the room has nightstands and dressers. Communal areas of the House include remodeled bathrooms, furnished living room, spacious kitchen, as well as a sitting room that comes with a fireplace. The center also has a large backyard.
Residential clients can also use an indoor pool and a yoga studio.
The residents are offered two chef-prepared nutritious meals every day. The residents themselves prepare the dinner. The center does accommodate dietary restrictions. Newbies in the kitchen are provided cooking tips. The meals are taken together in a spacious dining room located beside the kitchen.
Residents typically stay at Annie’s House anywhere from 30 days to 90 days. The treatment modality is based on the 12-step recovery process and comprises three stages – intervention and social detoxification, inpatient as well as wraparound care, and lifetime alumni and aftercare services.
During the stay, residents undergo individual and group counseling, and family and experiential therapies. The center also offers recreational therapy, which helps in fostering teamwork and building character. This is offered seasonally and includes kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking.
The ratio of staff to clients at Annie’s House is 1:3. The treatment team comprises of a physician, mental health and substance use disorder counselors, an LCSW, a personal trainer, and case managers.

Annie’s House does accept multiple insurance plans like Deseret Mutual, Intermountain Healthcare, PEHP, Molina Healthcare, Select Health, and Wise Networks. It also provides financial assistance to needy clients.
